World Bank has recently endorsed $ 500 million soft loan to part finance irrigation revamping at 500,000 feddans land in Kafr El Sheikh & Beheira Governorates in the old Delta region. Project is for execution over 5 to 7 years. According to Dr. Eng. Mahmoud Abu Zeid, Minister of Water Resources & Irrigation, project would be executed in cooperation with factories of the Military Production Sector and Arab Contractors Co. He further indicated that the project comprises a tangible component for barrages equipment & gates among other modern irrigation control equipment. |
