| Description | Executive Director of the German Arab Chamber of Industry & Commerce announced recently that foreign trade volume between Egypt & Germany in 2004 reached about Euro 2 billion [about $ 2.57 billion] marking 10 % growth above its level in 2003. He further stressed that more than one million German tourists have visited Egypt in 2004 & they spent about 11 million tourist nights. The executive expressed hope the number to reach three million tourists in the next years. On his side Ismailiya Governor, Gen. Sabry El Adawi, revealed that his Governorate is now evaluating an application submitted by an Egyptian German venture to plant 5,000 feddans land on the East Side of Suez Canal with medical herbs away from using insecticides. He added that it is still to decide whether the land will be leased or sold to the company. |
