| Description | BP - British Petroleum has announced plans to invest up to $ 4 billion in Egypt petroleum sector over the next five years. Chairman & CEO of BP Egypt, Eng. Hesham Mekkawi, said there are huge chances for the company to hit additional natural gas finds at its concession areas. He added that BP would apply new technologies in Egypt similar to those applied in Mexico to maintain high production rates at old crude oil wells. Eng. Mekkawi was further quoted in the media revealing that BP is now in the process of developing Sakkara oil field on the Suez Gulf to produce, upon completion in 2006, some 45,000 barrels of crude oil per day. |
