Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth has signed recently 8 new petroleum agreements with companies & groups of UK, US, Canada, Holland & Austria involving $ 686 million committed investments and covering about 16,000 Km2 area. They included 2 agreements which were signed with BP - British Petroleum of the UK involving $ 615 million investments & $ 12 million signature bonus, to develop various petroleum fields in the Western Desert and the Suez Gulf. They further included 4 agreements signed with Apatchi of the US involving $ 46 million investments and $ 4.25 million signature bonus, to develop different fields in the Western Desert. Other agreements were signed with Merlon Co. of the US, Odessa of Canada, Shell Co. of Holland & Shell Co. of Austria. Development confirms earlier announced projections of the Ministry of Petroleum, also the huge confidence of the world petroleum industry in the country future petroleum potential. |
