Egypt Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Wealth, Eng. Sameh Fahmy, has recently announced that Sumid revenues in 2004 reached $ 314 million. The company was established in 1974 to operate two 42-inch diameter pipelines extending 320 Km long between Ein Al Sukhna in Suez till Sidi Kreir on the Mediterranean. Egypt owns 50 % of the capital of Sumid, with the other 50 % divided between Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE, holding 15 % each & Qatar holding 5 %. Sumid Chairman, Mr. Mostafa Gomaa, said above revenues are the highest ever achieved. He further indicated that Sumid handled during 2004 about 112.5 million tons of different type crude oil. |
