Three new petroleum concession agreements were recently signed with leading international groups involving $ 219 million committed investments, apart from $ 15.5 million signature bonus. They included a concession on 1,309 Km2 area at Al Borollos offshore zone in the Mediterranean concluded with E Gas in joint venture with BP of the UK under $ 140 million committed investments to drill 5 wells, apart from $ 10.5 million signature bonus. They also included another concession on 1,250 Km2 area at North Al Borg offshore area in the Mediterranean concluded with E Gas, BP & IOEC, of Italy, under $ 63 million committed investments to drill 3 wells, apart from $ 3 million signature bonus. They further included a third concession on 3,115.3 Km2 area at East Kalabsha [onshore] area in the Western Desert concluded with IOEC, ITANAFT of Croatia & RWA of Germany under $ 16 million committed investments to drill 7 wells apart from $ 2 million signature bonus. Development is self-explanatory in terms of the country huge natural gas future potential, also and much more in terms of the country economic credibility |
