An Egyptian company acting as sole agent of Cemtec of China said it is negotiating with Egyptian companies to supply three cement production lines worth $ 150 million. Deal involves a 1.5-million tons/ year line in Alexandria, another 1.2-million tons/ year line in Beni Swef and a third of a similar capacity yet with no mention given for the location. N.B. to which extent projects would prove feasible considering presently installed capacities and supply & demand mechanism that remain to be answered. Days earlier the Saudi authorities have opened the door for the issuance of up to 27 licenses to build cement mills all over the Kingdom to overcome recent witnessed cement shortages & dramatic cement prices. |
