An Egyptian German joint venture was recently constituted to produce & maintain petroleum pumps in Suez City capitalized at L.E. 50 million. Project would occupy, in its first stage, a 20 feddans land lot (about 82,000 M2 land). Shareholders of the venture include Rohr Pumpen Co. of Germany, holding 52 % equity, EGPC, Enppi & Petrojet (of the Egyptian Petroleum Sector) holding 11 % each & ABB Petroleum of Germany, holding the remaining 15 %. The venture will produce annually about 400 pumps matching API 610 codes. Project is scheduled to start production by the first half of 2006. Minister Eng. Sameh Fahmy revealed that the petroleum sector now hosts almost 6,000 pumps. |
