A Pakistani
Group identified as Seif Allah Industrial Group has announced it will
implement a $ 20 million project at Borgel Arab Free Industrial Zone to
produce cotton yarn. Chairman of the Group, Mr. Jawid Seif Allah, said
production is scheduled to start by March 2006 & predicted the project
annual yarn exports to reach $ 25 million. The executive has further
revealed his Group intentions to invest in other sectors in Egypt including
natural gas & industry. N.B. To which extent the development would pave the way for more foreign investments using most modern spinning technologies to get established in Egypt, obviously export oriented & generate added value to the country high quality long staple cotton, that remains to be seen since it is obvious that those investors would not import raw cotton but rather depend on local stock. |
