According to Eng. Nabil Selim, Chairman of state owned EGOTH – General Co. for Tourism & Hotels, 14 companies & investors are competing to buy out 9,361 M2 land lot on the Nile Cornich known as Thomas Cook Land in Cairo. The lot, earlier offered for sale in a public auction by sealed envelopes to investors, would accommodate a huge, 5 stars, 130 floors high hotel of up to 1,000 rooms capacity involving L.E. 1 billion + investments (about $ 172 million). Bidders are said to include Prince Al Walid Ibn Talal, of Saudi Arabia, Semiramis Co. for Tourism, affiliated to Abdel Aziz Soliman Group, also of Saudi Arabia, the Egyptian Saudi Nile City Co., also Dubai International Co. for Real Estate & Demac Co., both of the UAE. They are further to include HNS Group, of Libya among other Egyptian companies. Worth indicating is that the deadline to put offers is set for 7/3/2005. |
