Media reports indicated that prices of steel rebars have witnessed an L.E. 200 per ton decline, now offered at about L.E. 2,500, while those for steel flat have witnesses L.E. 500 per ton decline, now offered at L.E. 2,850. They attributed the development to price cuts announced by Dekheila Steel Complex among other producers, to encounter market dumping by imported steel flat offered at L.E. 2,950. To which extent the said price cuts would boost construction in the coming summer months, deemed the peak season particularly for Egyptian expatriates spending their holidays in the country, that remains to be seen. |
