In the presence of Dr. Eng. Essam Sharaf, Egypt Minister of Transport, contract was signed to build a unique vessels fuelling station at South Port Said Port under $ 50 million Egyptian & foreign investments. The project would mainly serve vessels crossing the Suez Canal, also other vessels heading Egyptian & African ports. The nearest similar modern stations for vessels fuelling exist in Malta Island & another at Jabal Tarek. Project developer is a venture grouping Egypt Maritime Transport Sector & Mashreq Petroleum Co. Chaired by Mr. Gamal El Sadat in cooperation with Port Said Port Authority. N.B. Earlier media reports indicated that a similar project is progressing at Sukhna Port in Suez. |
