Invitation for prequalification applications regarding the Solar Island, part of an integrated Solar combined cycle power plant in Kureimat, 95 Km to the south of Cairo on the eastern side of the River Nile, under finance from World Bank & the Global Environment Fund to go under 3 contracts. Contract No. 1 is for the Solar Island as EPC cum O and M contract for engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and 5 years operation & maintenance. Here contractor shall guarantee the supply of solar heat to the solar heat exchangers as a function of normal direct solar irradiation ( DNI ) and of solar position. Contract 2 for combined cycle island as EPC contract for engineering, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning. Contract 3 for combined cycle island as O & M contract for 5 years for operation & maintenance. NREA announced it is in the process of securing additional financing from JBIC - Japan Bank for International Cooperation for the project part funding. Project goes under procurement guidelines of the World Bank. It is expected that invitation to bid will be made in December 2005. |
