According to Dr. Eng. Essam Sharaf, Egypt Minister of Transport, a new 22-Km long electrified rapid traffic project is now under evaluation to link Nasr City with New Cairo. He said alternative corridors between both districts are now studied. He revealed that project estimated costs are put at L.E. 450 million, yet indicated that financing of the scheme has not yet been determined. Project adds to a long suspended traction projects, apart from the giant L.E. 20 billion + Cairo Metro third line, where 25 companies have already bought prequalification documents for its first phase. |
