Egypt Minister of Culture, Dr. Farouk Hosni, has recently endorsed an L.E. 30 million project, identified as urgent, to salvage monuments & antiquities in Rashid City, also to complete a national museum therein. Museum is scheduled for inauguration by September 2006. Project involves tangible monuments & historical locations renovation, also the treatment & lowering of the underground water table. Implementing agency is the Islamic & Coptic Antiquities Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities. |
